The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Another Da Vinci Code quest, this time by Eurostar. Couldn't resist playing this one too, very addicting. Access the eurostar page here

The puzzles are little bit harder than the Google ones. Some puzzles are "prize puzzles". So far these puzzles have been on the form of the game Master Mind. The time and number of attempts are recorded and the fastest players with the fewest attempts win some sony stuff. I think I've been pretty lucky on the mastermind game, guessing the right sequence in 3 attempts both times. If you are playing the quest, please drop a comment with your times and number of attempts.

Here is a series of screenshots of the puzzles so far. The next challenge is to be published on May 25th.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Not bad. Some of the puzzles are different for each person. For example, the "dial" puzzle my answer was "Market Place"

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

i cannot get my gears to move AT ALL...what am i doing wrong??

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

The only way to move the inner circle is to push down the rose pin in the middle and move the outer circle. To move the outer cirlce only, pull up the rose pin and move. Hopw this helps

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I had a hard time getting the dials to move too, you have to left click the outter dial and hold it down, move the circle around to change letters.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

hi. I'm Laura in California. I'm trying to complete the EuroStar Quest, but I'm having issues with the marketplace puzzle. What's the secret? Thanks.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

http://mikesalsbury.com/mambo/ This is a great location for answers to both Google Da Vinci Code and Eurostar - he explains how to do the Market Place puzzle. The odd place out by the way is Royal Mile.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I finally got it to work.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I need help with the blueprint puzzle

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Hint: Start doing the blueprint puzzle. When the hint get available, use it and take a screenshoot (press the Print Scr button). Open draw and paste the screenshoot. Continue with the puzzle and use the screenshoot to guide you. Hope this helps

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

you can also restart the puzzle to access the clue again since it's not a time prize puzzle...

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

The hardest part of one of the final puzzles (the Louvre Pyramid) is working out which Grand Masters to look for so fyi... -Leonardo da Vinci -Victor Hugo -Claude Debussy -Jean Cocteau -Jacques Sauniere -Isaac Newton -Nicolas Flamel

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

This old man at the window: I cannot seem to get this thing done. I used to do these puzzles as a kid, too. You'd think it'd be easy.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

for the "jig-saw puzzle" puzzle there is a glitch. Move a piece on the board and hit the down arrow key ... it will give you the congratulations message of completing the puzzle without actually completing it.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

About the number of attempts at the Mastermind game, I managed in 2 attempts for the first one and then 3 attempts (very quickly!) for the second. I was lucky!

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Managed the silver box mastermind (with 10 numbers to find) in 5 attempts, just under 8 minutes.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Has anyone figured out the "dice" puzzle yet?

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

For the Dice puzzle set the dice after the division symbols to 1, and then try to just add and multiply the rest to equeal 58

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Yes, I've completed it, try and get all the ones except the ones after the plus signs to read around the total number, then adjust these two accordingly. Only took a couple of minutes. Have finished all the puzzles until the grand final..

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

i'm just waiting for the major puzzle, it won't let me play anymore until the 25th of May i guess :-(

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Thanks for the help, I got the dice one. Now I'm waiting too.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I am having major problems with the "slider" puzzle. The one at Grand Blvd. I have never been able to solve thse types of puzzles. If anyone is good at solving these and is willing to help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I have been stuck on jsut this one to complete level two for three days. Email address is kugal40k@yahoo.com

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I, as many others had mighty problems until i realized that some setups don't have a solution. If you get two pieces next to each other that have to switch places in order to complete the problem, know it's impossible. Try a new puzzle until you get it.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I am still having trouble with the slider puzzle. Please someone have pity on me. I have spent a better part of three hours messing with it and even tried the cheat program. Can't figure that out for the life of me. kugal40k@yahoo.com

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Finally I have gotten the slider thanks to the cheat program..

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I cheated, I ended up dowloading a solution program written just for solving sliding puzzles. Copy the web address and download the software, it worked great. http://www.balmoralsoftware.com/sliding.htm

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I'm having lots of trouble with the sliding puzzle. I downloaded the program that was suggested but it did not work. Does anyone else have any ideas on how to solve it? I've tried for days and days. This is getting frustrating! Please email me: cat_luver1987@hotmail.com

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Hi, I just found this site today, does anyone know what the best time/attempts for the first prize puzzle, the cryptex, was??? I think I did it well but I don't have anything to base it on.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Need help With freemanson's Puzzle Mine's with another set of jumbled up words

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Although the letters are different, the names should be the same. For example the longest name is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with this you know that what ever letter you have in the beginning should be 'W' and so on.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Check out my website need help with the freemanson challenge it is making me go Craarzy http://dageek.eponym.com/blog

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

OK, I will respond here in order to be fair to everyone, hopefully you didn't close the puzzle. How I figured this out is, I know the single word is VOLTAIRE. So I started by printing out your screen shot and replacing letters. A=L, B=G, C=E, D=K, E=C, G=P, H=B, I=N, J=T, K=F, L=S, M=D, P=Z, Q=M, R=I, S=H, T=U, U=W, V=O, W=A, X=V & Z=R. With the cypher decoded you, and everyone else who may be stuck can decode the names.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Can any1 help with the freemasons part. I have tried to figuire this out but I have no idea what to do or how to do it.. help and a explaination for dummies would be good

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Read the post above yours. The single word that is 8 letters long is VOLTAIRE. There is also a two word name each name is 5 letters long; the name should be CLARK GABLE. Try that. Good luck, and that's all you get out of me.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Stuck on the slider puzzle for days now and i'm still stuck. On the college network so can't download software to solve it. Would somebody take pity on me and log on in my name? Please.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Don't worry done it now, but i've got to the stage where i have to wait for the next level. Grrr

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

HOW DO YOU SOLVE THIS RUDDY SLIDE PUZZLE?? THIS IS GOING TO DRIVE ME INSANE. HELP!!!

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

never mind. just takes patience:)

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

May 25th Cryptex... What is everybody's best score... i did it in 9 attempts in 3:16.44

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

3hours????? really what kind of a time is that surely 3 minutes?

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

that was 3 MINUTES, 16 SECS., 44/100 secs... LOL!

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Anyone tried the final challenge yet?

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

My best: 6 attempts in 10 min 3.65 sec

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

WHat is the answer to the last challenge. I have spent way too much time on this

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Yup - the final challenge is a doozy.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I was able to solve the Grand Prize Puzzle (25th May Cryptex)...A 10 character sequence.. I solved it in 5 attempts, 4.21 seconds

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Ugh! The final challege was a pain, the best I could do was 6 attempts in 9 minutes 54.39 seconds. That was my first attempt and both tries after that were 7 attempts at around 11 minutes. My brain is tired. lol Oh well, good luck to everyone else out there!

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Managed the first mastermind in 2 attempts, the 2nd in 3 and the 3rd in 5, not sure of the times. Unfortunately not sure if I'll be able to access a computer for long enough to solve the final puzzles, computers at work won't allow me access! :(

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Grand Prixe Puzzle 2 guesses in 2.13

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

My best time was 8min 52.53 secs...good luck everyone

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I finished in 6 attempts any less than that im not sure how you were able to figure it out... Crazy

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Final puzzle - 5min 44.90 sec - BUT 10 attempts!!! Lame effort. Good Luck to everyone taking part

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Best time was 3 minutes and 4/100 of a second. Unfortunately it took me 9 attempts. That was my 3rd try. The first 2 times I tried, I did it in 6 attempts and 8 attempts but over 11 minutes for each. Took me a couple of tries to get the pattern for elimination down. Oh well, I had fun and hopefully I will win one of the "other hundreds of prizes" they have listed

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Grand Prize I got pretty lucky to get 5 right on the 3rd turn therefore only had 5 left. As a result, I had my best time. The other 2 were 7 tries each. I'm in the Eastern Time Zone. The guy with 2 tries, what time zone are you in. I hope not Eastern. 5 Tries 3 min 15 sec

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Ok, I'm unobservant... it's 1 per a country and not 1 per a timezone. I guess the US can only have one grand champ

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

well done and good work but it does rather take the fun out of these things. anyway nice to know im not the only one going crazy on this!!

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Have screen shots of the following: Level 1 - 4 attempts in 2:40.73 Level 2 - 3 attempts in 1:46.06 Level 3 - 6 attempts in 11:31.40 Grand Prize Puzzle - 5 attempts in 11:18.34 I'm satisfied even if I don't see Paris. Sue :) Reno, NV USA

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Grand prize puzzle: 5 attempts, 8:24.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Can you tell me how you get those screenshots? I can't get them to my Google Blog. Thanks for your help. Paul

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

If you don't have Print Screen software with lots of enhancements, use your Print Screen key at the end of all the F1-F12 keys... See it? I can only copy to a MS Word document,,, not to a Clipboard, not to an Email,, etc... but have the MS WORD document open BEFORE you hit the print screen key, otherwise you will lose the screen you "captured"... email if you can't get it... or AIM: diffieman.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Thanks on the Printscreen reply - I can "capture" it - I can't get it to go to my Google's Blogger page, though. But I've only tried it from the clipboard. I'll MS Word. Thanks much for replying. Paul

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I didn't really do it 2 attempts in 2 mins just frustrated that everyone was beating me, bad loser, but over it now. Good Luck All!

How Old

Hi, how old do you think the youngest person that has cracked the code is?

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Everyone who played beat me I'm sure. My best was 7 attempts 11:43:56.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

For printscreen, instead of putting it in MS word, try putting it in MS Paint. That way you can get rid of the unwanted edges and save as whatever file you want. Also if you wanted to, you could make your 14 tries look like 4 tries. hehe. Never trust a printscreen any more than some one's word.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

When do the winners find out about their prizes? I prob didn't win the trip to London but if I did, I need to get a passport among other things.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Well my 6 attempts at the grand prize puzzle obviously aren't good enough but I'm hopeful of a consolation prize with my 2 attempts at the first mastermind and 3 attempts at the 2nd one!

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

How old do you think is the youngest person to crack the code?

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

No reason why a 10 year old couldn't crack it, I'm sure I could have at that age.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Well ive just turned 11 and cracked it so im sure someone younger than me did.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

I know I havent won anything though, so hopefully theyll take pity on me and send me a prize, LOL :)

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Man I can't wait till the 6th to see if I've won anything. I don't think I'll win the PSP or anything but hopefully I'll get a cd or DVD.

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Are you sure it's the 6th?

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

Woohoo! Won a soundtrack for my level 1 efforts; apparently anyone completing the code (as I did and most people here probably did) are in the top 2% of the 1.2m entrants..

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

How'd you find out?

Re: The Eurostar Da Vinci Code Quest

not anyone... I got the email but my sister did not.
